Shoot a feature film on the RED digital cinema camera as you travel through Athens and the Greek islands of Santorini, Mykonos and Samos!!
Study storytelling, exterior lighting, basic and advanced production techniques, color-correction/editing 4k footage and study Greek/European cinema.

Learn:
Learn digital cinema on a RED Scarlet cinema camera system by shooting a feature film as a group -- watch films and learn about the history of Greek cinema -- learn about Greek culture, music and food! Have a feature film shot in a foreign country credit on your resume and reel!!
While you will learn all aspects of production we will break up into departments: Producing, camera, sound, editing, writing and directing.
Led by Professor Talavera from the University of Miami and taught by professionals from both the US and Greece this class is designed for any student who wants to develop their cinematic skills and create a movie for their reel in a foreign country. No experience necessary (seriously - if you have no experience we will train you)
4 weeks in Greece
Film production techniques (CMP 594)
Study European cinema (CMP 507) (Both courses can satisfy several CIM requirements)
Finish Feature film (90 minutes)
Shoot the film on the RED cinema camera

Housing:
Students stay at hotels/Motels thorugh out the trip.
Meals:
Breakfast is provided each and every day and are included in the program fee.
Program Costs:
The program fee is approximately $2000 and will include:
-All accommodations
-Airport transfer to Hotel
-All breakfasts
-Boat Travel between Islands
-Pre-departure orientation
-All entry fees for exhibits/museums which are part of the program
-On-site program director support
-Digital Cinema Equipment and post-production equipment
The following are not included in the above budget. Students are also responsible for:
-$9,600 for 6 credits of tuition
-International Airfare
-Lunches and Dinners
-Passport fees
-Personal expenses during the program
-Anything not specifically mentioned above
Please budget for these additional expenses. The estimated fees do not include independent travel outside of the program.
